International Showcases & Festivals

From Anaheim to Osaka, B3 Johnson & Friends has brought Hammond organ artistry to international stages. Highlights include the NAMM Show (USA, 2024), where Johnson was invited by Hammond Suzuki to appear with the Endorsed Artist Badge (Hammond Suzuki USA), creating video content to promote Hammond’s product for the Hong Kong Jazz community. Johnson also brought Sylvia Ho, trained and mentored by him (then just 12 years old), who drew attention at the Hammond Booth and emerged as a remarkable young presence in the jazz organ scene. Other appearances include the Taichung Jazz Festival (Taiwan) with StepOut Studio on Hammond SK Pro, the Hammond Organ Festa (Osaka, 2019), the Hammond Organ Concert (Japan, 2018), and performances across Japan’s Hammond/jazz organ scene at Organ Jazz Club (Tokyo), Zatto Four (Osaka), and BB Caravan (Nara).

Hong Kong Cultural & Corporate Events

In Hong Kong, B3 Johnson & Friends is a trusted presence at flagship cultural and corporate celebrations. As Music Director of the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival, Johnson curates and leads performances for one of the city’s hallmark public events. B3 Johnson & Friends appeared at Art Basel Hong Kong 2024 with a ceremony‑stage jazz performance featuring Nate Wong and Poh Chaichon. Another highlight was the Hong Kong Disneyland performance by B3 Johnson & Sylvia, presenting “It’s a Small World” live. Further contributions include the West Kowloon Freespace JazzFest and the Hong Kong Airport Arts & Culture Festival, underscoring B3 Johnson & Friends’ role in shaping the city’s cultural landscape.

NAMM Show Highlights

At NAMM 2024 in Anaheim, Johnson was invited by Hammond Suzuki USA to appear and create promotional content for the Hong Kong market. He showcased Hammond organ artistry alongside his daughter, Sylvia Ho, whose performance on the newly launched Hammond M‑Solo was later featured on Hammond Suzuki’s official Twitter/X, marking a proud moment of international visibility. While not an official endorser or stage headliner, Johnson’s participation marked the first and significant step in the development of Hong Kong’s jazz organ community.

Freespace JazzFest

B3 Johnson has been a recurring presence at the West Kowloon Freespace Jazz Fest, bringing Hammond‑driven jazz to one of Hong Kong’s most important cultural platforms. In 2020–2021, Johnson appeared as B3 Johnson & Friends, while in 2022 the spotlight shifted to B3 Johnson & Sylvia, underscoring Sylvia’s emergence as Hong Kong’s youngest Jazz musicians. These performances reflect both continuity and growth, strengthening B3 Johnson’s connection to the city’s jazz community.

Collaborations

B3 Johnson’s collaborations span Hong Kong and international festivals. Most importantly, Johnson mentors and performs with B3 Sylvia, Hong Kong’s youngest jazz musician, representing both family legacy and artistic innovation.
